Gujarati Association Wilayah Persekutuan and Selangor (GAWPS) is a non-profit organization established in 1959 as incorporated body to fuifill, maintain and enhance our Cultural Heritage. It provides education on the values and rich heritage of Gujarat, the part of India where we trace our roots.
The Association fondly known as "Samaj' is a vital component of wholesome and happy living. The Samaj provides the foundation of love, respect, charity, humility and unity within the community. It would also provide a conductive environment for the members and their families to play, pray, eat, learn and cry together as one big family.
The myriad of activities carries out by Juniors wing, Youth wing, Ladies wing provide a practical laboratory and guide to the Art of Living - what they do not teach you in schools or universities.
The Association or Samaj for the Gujarati diaspora is the epicenter of our character and our well being, be it in good times or otherwise. It plays a powerful role in reinforcing our identity as a dynamic community which can rise on all occasions.
