Great Southern Studios (GSS) is a leading multi-genre Film & TV production company that thrives on creating strong ideas we believe in. GSS has a global reputation for high quality shows including One Lane Bridge, Hillary, The Casketeers, Coast New Zealand and Coast Australia
To date GSS has produced over 60 original productions and worked with a host of broadcasters and platforms internationally including BBC, Netflix, The Discovery Channel, ABC, The History Channel, AMC, Sundance Now, Foxtel, Ten, TVNZ, TV3, SKY, Facebook and ESPN. Most recently the company received a record number of nominations and awards at the NZ TV Awards, including the honour of taking home Best Drama Series for One Lane Bridge, Best Reality TV Format for My Restaurant Rules, Best Current Affairs/News Presenter for Mihingarangi Forbes (of The Hui), Te Māngai Paho Best Māori Programme for NZ Wars: Stories of Waitara.
Represented by WME, GSS optioned its comedy series Agent Anna to Seth Gordon and Sony, and had its controversial thriller, The Cult, remade in Russia. It is also the creator and producer of Netflix’s global doc series hit, The Casketeers.
