Ý tưởng này được truyền cảm hứng từ PGS.TS - Nhà giáo ưu tú Trịnh Đình Đạt - Nguyên Chủ nhiệm Bộ môn Di truyền học; Phó chủ nhiệm khoa Sinh học - trường ĐH Khoa học tự nhiên - ĐH Quốc Gia Hà Nội về việc thiết lập một trung tâm xét nghiệm triển khai những thành quả khoa học và ứng dụng của lĩnh vực di truyền và sinh học phân tử tại Việt Nam.
Trải qua quá trình dài nhiều thử thách, đội ngũ nhân sự GENTIS dưới sự dẫn dắt của PGS.TS Trịnh Đình Đạt và các chuyên gia đầu ngành đã không ngừng cố gắng để GENTIS luôn là đơn vị xét nghiệm di truyền tiên phong tại Việt Nam.
