The legacy of General Accessories dates back to 1929 when it first emerged in the Australian Bicycle Industry under the visionary leadership of Bruce Small, the owner of Malvern Star. Originally established and floated as General Accessories Pty Ltd with a capital of £6,500, it served as the wholesaling arm of Bruce Small's business empire. Notably, General Accessories also acquired the Hutchison Tyre Agency during this period.
In February 1958, Bruce Small retired from General Accessories, marking a transition as Electronic Industries took over the reins of the company. Subsequently, in 1980, General Accessories was acquired by TI Industries, the prestigious owner of the renowned UK bicycle brand, Raleigh, leading to the retirement of the General Accessories name.
