Description
Future of Hospitality began as a passion project in early 2022, as I was travelling to the UK from Australia to study a master's in regenerative economics.
My aim is to inspire a thriving (Purposeful & Prosperous) Future of Hospitality, as if People, Place and Planet matter. Simple, right? 🙂
‘Hospitality’ means different things in different countries. To be clear, I mean the wider hospitality, F&B, tourism, travel, wellness and food ‘sectors’. I also mean operators, investors, suppliers and service providers.

The hospitality 'ecosystem' and a ‘way of being’.
Almost 4 years ago, I began by doing livestreams and then launched a newsletter that became three, with 10k+ subscribers.
In 2026, this project becomes a movement. Overdue podcast, more livestreams, migrating the 3 newsletters to Substack, and adding a community platform to enable like-minded folk to learn, develop their own ideas and the ideas of others.
Why do this?
I’ve spent the best part of 44 years in the industry:
→ being an internationally headhunted CEO scaling $0-$250m in 8 months
→ founding my own multi-site group, becoming a $mm within 5 of 12 years
→ being elected by my peers as chair of the St Kilda Business Association and the St Kilda Tourism Board and appointed a board member of the Port Phillip Eco-centre.
When I ran my own group, I experimented and innovated with:
→ Community engagement and arts, music & film industry support to benefit local ‘culture and society’
→ Creating Australia’s first ‘farm-to-fork’ eco-restaurant back in 2009, with 180+ local farmers and producers delivering direct and testing out what we now call circular approaches to material use.
Future of Hospitality is how I'm now making a difference.
