The Foundation for Australia’s Most Endangered Species Ltd (FAME) is an independent, registered national charity organisation with a clear and simple vision to prevent any further extinctions of Australian flora and fauna. This is achieved by providing funds and expertise to support and enable low-profile, high-impact projects and programs across the country, aimed at protecting or re-establishing threatened Australian native species and habitats.
FAME identifies conservation projects that may be seen as insignificant by larger entities, comparatively smaller lesser-known projects for species that would not attract funding. These include protection of species in-situ, revegetation and protection of habitat, innovative conservation initiatives and building robust populations behind fences with the long-term strategy of rewilding. FAME often sees the potential in such projects and provides financial support.
