We are committed to a brighter future for people of every ability to empower them to realise their potential.
Finding Yellow offers a full range of services, from Community Participation & Supports, Supported Independent Living (SIL), Independent Living Options (ILO), Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA), Social Circle outings and Getaways/Holidays.
As a small not-for-profit organisation we are able to respond quickly and be flexible in the services we deliver, tailoring our support to focus completely on the individual.
We respect diversity, work collaboratively with the community and other providers to provide high quality services, delivered professionally and with integrity.
Finding Yellow started back in 1978 when a group of Cessnock families came together with one goal: to improve the care and support services available for people with disability in the Hunter region.
Our organisation grew over the decades and in July 2013 it was renamed Finding Yellow. ‘Finding’ means that the staff are focused on assisting and empowering our clients to choose their life’s path; it suggests a search and an on-going journey. ‘Yellow’ is a happy colour which lifts our spirits. It’s associated with a bright summer’s day, beautiful flowers and is an optimistic and cheerful hue.
Finding Yellow has an unwavering commitment to discover better resources, develop stronger community networks and improve facilities for our clients.
