"Financial Inclusion By Design" advocates for the design of fair & inclusive financial services and products enabled by technology.
In the context of a developed nation like Australia, financial inclusion is measured by the availability, ease and equality of opportunities for consumers and SMBs to access appropriate, affordable and timely financial products and services such as payments, savings, wealth (including retirement investments), loans and insurance.
Fairness means acceptable treatment or behaviour without significant imbalance in the parties' rights and obligations. It requires an absence of disproportionate self-interest, favouritism, conscious or unconscious bias and discrimination. Fairness is about protecting clients’ interests in a broad sense. It is closely connected to ethics and reasonableness.
Our vision is to see technology (such as APIs, AI, 5G, IoT and DLT) deliver a secure, agile and rich customer experience especially in the context of Australia's ground-breaking Consumer Data Right (CDR).
Trust is at the heart of fairness & inclusion. Not just trust that money and data will be safe but trust that the customer comes first and will be treated fairly in the event of any dispute.
Our vision supports compliance with regulatory obligations relating to conduct such as ACL/AFSL duties; product design and distribution obligations (DDO); and the General Insurance Code of Practice.
