Far Out is an invitation-only annual event connecting leading Kiwi founders, VCs, ecosystem players, and international tech veterans for an unforgettable New Zealand road trip from Auckland to Queenstown.
Over 9 days from Jan 27th to Feb 4th, 2026, participants traverse New Zealand in a convoy of 20 4x4 off-road capable vehicles, navigating legendary roads, including memorable off-road segments such as the iconic Rainbow Road which runs through the high-country wilderness of the Upper South Island.
With only 100 convoy spots available, this unique journey offers the opportunity to meet, connect and build relationships with leading Kiwi entrepreneurs, international talent, Silicon Valley veterans, and US venture capitalists, creating unparalleled opportunities for collaboration, investment, and growth, all while being immersed in the outstanding landscapes New Zealand is famous for. Nightly events and dinners allow the opportunity to meet and connect with local founders, startups and ecosystem players along the way.
Rob Coneybeer created this event in close collaboration with several friends, including John Holt, Bill Neville, Simon Robertson, Mason Bleakley, and Oliver Bruce. Rob splits his time between New Zealand and Seattle, and on behalf of Shasta Ventures has invested in eight NZ-based startups. The mission of this road trip is to cultivate relationships that will help propel New Zealand companies to global success.
