Environmental and Climate Change Research Institute (ECCRI) has transformed its “research into action”. - a research that mitigates the problems and difficulties that may be encountered in the future due to the threats and coercion of disasters and climate change related hazards phenomena to environment and biodiversity; a research that ameliorates the identification of the possible scenarios and projections of the range of probable impacts and risks, and the quantification of uncertainties (or conversely, the confidence) in the diverse evaluation procedures; a research that serves as a platform on the dynamics of disaster risks and climate change modulation that have been happening on the different areas due to the geographic exposure, poor state of economies, the lack of adaptation capacities, and the colossal number of impoverished people; a research that helps to address the policy implementation gap that exists concerning the translation of the climate change adaptation strategies, resiliency and disaster risk management schemes into actual execution; and a research that tackles various issues such as corollaries and consequences of social stability, human security, the need for legal recognition of the potential affected individuals, the need to understand biodiversity and its types (e.g. species, biogeographic, and genetic diversity), and the need for more public financial assistance for safety and protection of the people and environment brought by ecologically induced repercussions.
