All of our electricity infrastructure, (lines, poles, transformers, wiring and fittings) have been developed, tacked onto, pieced together and repaired over many, many decades. When first developed, these were times of low energy costs, with government ownership and ease of connection.
We now find ourselves in a high energy cost environment were infrastructure and privatisation has forced electricity charges to be amongst the highest in the world. On average, the price of electricity has increased by 100% in the last 5 years alone.
