What Is An Energy Efficient Home?
To put it as simply as possible, it's finding out how a house loses it's energy after the sun has gone down, and stopping that from happening. The less it loses the less you have to put back into it! We use the 5 principles of Passive House to achieve this:
- Thermal insulation
- Windows
- Air tightness
- Adequate ventilation strategy
- Thermal bridging
With an energy efficient house, there will also be a whole range of economical ways of creating energy and heating the home.
Building a new home to Passive House standards brings with it a multitude of benefits:

We have a Passive House trained designer on our team and our director Robert Whitehouse is Passive House certified and trades certified. Having a team that understands from the start to the finish what they are trying to achieve cannot be overstated. This is why we employ our own carpenters and apprentices and constantly train them to understand exactly what needs to be done.
