Description
The Environmental Health Intelligence New Zealand (EHINZ) team is a research, training and consultancy group, specializing in environmental health information.
We are based within the College of Health, at Massey University, Wellington. Our work is primarily funded by the New Zealand Ministry of Health.
Our work has two core elements:
1. We conduct research into the effects of environmental factors on the health of the animal and human populations.
2. We provide a consultancy service, providing data and analytical services, and dissemination of fit-for-purpose information products.
We have five surveillance systems for monitoring environmental health in New Zealand, which are integrated and concept-driven. These surveillance systems are:
1. Environmental Health Indicators 2. Hazardous Substances Surveillance 3. Environmental Burden of Disease 4. New Zealand Congenital Anomalies Registry 5. People and Animals Wellbeing Surveillance (PAWS)
