Description
Dress for Success is part of a global movement for change, empowering women to obtain safer and better futures. From its inception in 1997 there are 150 Dress for Success affiliates in 20 countries, which have served over 850,000 disadvantaged women with professional attire and career support. We are very pleased to have been granted the affiliation rights for Dress for Success Adelaide, commencing operation in August 2015. We have established a brand new retail space offering a completely free of charge personalised service. With the assistance of dedicated staff and volunteers, every woman using our service will be uplifted and empowered by her experience.
At our Dress for Success, we also offer disadvantaged women without recent work histories the opportunity to develop new skills in retail sales training and customer service activities. The establishment of our Professional Women’s Group will provide ongoing support with an extensive curriculum.
There are many ways to become involved with this movement for change, we would appreciate clothing donations, which are clean and interview or work appropriate. We are also keen to partner with other businesses and organisations that might like to take advantage of supporting Dress for Success Adelaide as part of their corporate social/citizen responsibility. Not only would we appreciate financial contributions in the form of donations and ongoing sponsorship, but we would also value the donation of time which may include management of Suit Drives, working within our boutique and supporting our Professional Women’s Group through the provision of advice and training in workplace relations, finance and life skills.
With your support we plan to assist hundreds of disadvantaged women into employment each year. Together, we can break the cycle of poverty and build resilience back into our communities. We look forward to your support and together making a difference to the lives of disadvantaged women in Adelaide.
