DEG was founded in Timaru in 1991, originally offering steel detailing, mechanical design, and welding inspection. Over the years, we’ve grown to provide structural engineering, non-destructive testing, and equipment inspections across cranes, pressure systems, electrical gear, and EWPs, with branches in Christchurch, Dunedin, and Hamilton.
In 2018, we acquired Survey NZ, expanding into ship surveys and land-based inspections. A 2021 restructure formed the DE Group, now rebranded as DEG, comprising DEG Consulting Engineering, DEG Calibration & Compliance, and DEG Survey & Inspection.
With a 5-star Impac Prequal rating and deep expertise in NZ compliance, DEG delivers audit-ready, technically robust solutions nationwide.In early 2021 a major restructure was implemented and DE Group was formed. This includes three separate limited liability companies trading as the following; DE Consulting Engineers & Inspection, DE Calibration & Compliance and Survey NZ
We are market leaders in our areas of expertise, providing civil, structural and mechanical engineering, equipment inspections, calibration services, non destructive testing, welding inspections as well as welders qualification testing within the three entities.
