Brand profile · Financial Services

We connect and support people under the age of 40 in their professional development and promote commercial finance as a career and industry.
CAFBA recognises the commercial finance industry is, in majority, represented by an aging demographic. The current profile of the average commercial broker is a reflection of outdated banking practices and CAFBA wants to see the industry evolve to be a vibrant and diverse industry.
At a formal strategic review in 2017 CAFBA comprised a policy to attract new and more diverse individuals into the profession, including young people. An industry recognised way to do this was to create an educational pathway which saw the introduction of the Certificate IV in Financial Services: Specialising in Commercial and Asset Finance and the soon to be released Diploma in Financial Services: Certified Lease & Finance Professionals (CLFP). CAFBA believes education is essential to building strong professional practices and with identifying that, young people are attracted to a structured career. We believe these new programs will help to create an opportunity to attract new people into the industry.
In addition to education, CAFBA recognised the need to provide a network to foster generational change and formed a separate division called CLYP; Commercial Lending Young Professionals. CLYP is open to professionals under the age of 40, with the aim to develop a network of likeminded young commercial brokers and associated professionals who can meet socially, provide support and develop their skills through a series of events created to help young people enter into and thrive in the commercial finance industry.
