CITIC Pacific Mining (CPM) is the company behind Sino Iron, already Australia’s biggest magnetite operation located 100km south-west of Karratha, Western Australia.
CPM’s investment in downstream processing and associated infrastructure is delivering premium-quality magnetite concentrate to the world’s steel mills.

Sino Iron is much more than a mine – we’re a fully integrated operation, comprising a state-of-the-art six-line concentrator, the Pilbara mainland’s cleanest, greenest and largest power station, a 51GL desalination plant and export facilities nearby at Cape Preston.
Our local workforce comes from all walks of life, but we’re one team - focused on overcoming the usual challenges associated with a greenfields megaproject and making Western Australia home to the world’s best producer of magnetite product.
