Description

Chamber Music New Zealand (CMNZ) is the largest presenter of top quality chamber music concerts throughout Aotearoa New Zealand.

Our mission is to nurture the love and understanding of music, create remarkable experiences throughout the country, foster live music by solo performers and small ensembles, as well as encourage and support New Zealand performers and composers.

Every year, Chamber Music New Zealand brings together international performers with local musicians and composers, inspiring and engaging audiences all over the country. The annual CMNZ Presents series offers audiences a diverse range of music up close experiences: from period-instrument performances to jazz collaborations, string quartets to wind ensembles, cross-genre to cross-art form explorations.

Throughout the year and across the whole country, CMNZ is out and about working alongside communities, sharing musical experiences through its Community Engagement Programme. On top of school visits, educational concerts, masterclasses, residencies, and coaching sessions, CMNZ is responsible for hosting the longest running chamber music competition for secondary students, the NZCT Chamber Music Contest.

Alongside its main concert season, CMNZ also presents a series In Partnership with music presenters around Aotearoa, mostly volunteer music societies and arts festivals.
