Description
Cempaka Schools is a family-owned group of private schools, founded 35 years ago by a mother, Dato Freida Pilus, to educate her 5 sons. Today, Cempaka is the largest privately-held education entity in Malaysia, running three different curricula: the Malaysian curriculum, the British curriculum and the International Baccalaureate. Students range from the age of three, right to nineteen at completion of the Malaysian Sijil Peperiksaan Malaysia, the University of Cambridge IGCSE and A Levels, as well as the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme.
Whilst Cempaka continues to evolve at the cutting edge of modern education, its original values of discipline and rigour within a supportive community remains strongly in place. Her sons for whom Dato' Freida Pilus founded the school are still with her, this time joining her to take Cempaka well into the 21st century.
