We design & make carpets that nobody else has. Silk, wool and bamboo all feature in our bespoke textiles. Our highly sought after floor coverings are featured around the globe.
We even created our own precision machinery and it's the best in the world. Everything is made in New Zealand, including us.
CRONZ is a boutique manufacturing company specialising in Bespoke Rugs and Carpet using modern hi tech equipment.
The evolution of CRONZ is a typical New Zealand story. New Zealand is a country at the end of the world. We have to be inventive to conquer the challenges we face in this isolated paradise. Throughout our brief history, many Kiwis have asked themselves: how could I make this work? Isn’t there a better way to do this - which is where the ‘shed’ comes into it: a place of great inventions and ideas. John Wyma, director and founder of CRONZ, had an idea. Having sold an engineering company, John was looking for a new challenge to apply his engineering brain to. Inspired by the need for New Zealand to add value to raw material and being located in the rich location of Canterbury, John set about designing, then building, a machine to manipulate yarn into high quality floor coverings. After many trials, prototypes, hissy fits and small - then huge - gains, CRONZ created a tufting machine and software able to create designs from file to floor. A designer's dream!
It seemed a natural choice to enroll the family. The care, the natural attitude towards customer service, the empathy to each customer and their design capability have made CRONZ into a stand out all round wonderful experience, adding warmth, statement pieces, evocative imagery and soft elegance to homes worldwide.
