Mission Survivors mentoring fellow domestic violence survivors creating a new chapter in their lives
Purpose We are a charity with deductible gift recipient status, whose purpose is to relieve poverty, distress, misfortune and the effects of abuse and suffering for domestic violence survivors. This will be achieved by establishing a Success Centre that will provide support and relief services, life skills, education, training and career guidance. We will work in collaboration with other welfare services, organisations, government bodies and research institutions to best meet the needs of domestic violence survivors
Who do we work with?
We work with women, children and men who have safely left an abusive relationship (≥6 months out of the unsafe environment).
Goal Broken to Brilliant’sTM goal is to reduce the long-term impact of domestic violence by increasing financial independence, decreasing distress, increasing opportunities through education, life skills training and social support networks and supporting the rebuilding efforts of those who have experienced domestic violence.
Why In just one state in Australia, Queensland, more than 175 incidents of domestic violence were reported every day in 2013. That is 63,873 people that need help to rebuild their lives each year.
