Celebrating Brazilian culture, language, and identity in Aotearoa through joyful, inclusive, and community-led initiatives. Brasileirinhos Aotearoa empowers children, families, and volunteers to connect with their heritage while building bridges across cultures.
We offer Portuguese speaking Playgroup, Portuguese Heritage Language Classes for children and Portuguese Classes for adults, a growing library with books in Portuguese, arts and dance workshops, capoeira and football clubs, and vibrant cultural events that showcase Brazilian traditions in New Zealand. Our programmes are designed to foster intergenerational pride, wellbeing, and social inclusion—always grounded in empathy, creativity, and respect.
Based at Glen Haven Cottage in Henderson, we collaborate with mana whenua, Massey Henderson Local Boards, and multicultural networks to ensure our work reflects the diverse, dynamic spirit of our community. Whether through storytelling, movement, or celebration, we honour the richness of Brazilian identity while embracing the shared values of Aotearoa.
