Black Bridge Nurseries are New Zealand’s original and largest specimen tree nursery, supplying a wide variety of trees across New Zealand, and and for international export.
A family-owned and operated company since its establishment in 1966, Black Bridge Nurseries specialise in quality container-grown, big trees, with the range covering New Zealand natives, exotic and deciduous trees as well as fruit trees.
We supply landscapers, local councils and residential retail customers whatever their needs. Our highly experienced team have expert knowledge of the industry and our trees, helping you select the right tree or tree package, to satisfy both your desires for the finished result, as well as your specific location and climate.
Together, our team manages around 70,000 specimen grade trees, with about the same number again in smaller stock, at our two Auckland based nurseries at Puhinui and Opaheke, which cover 40 acres of total land. Commercial and residential customers are more than welcome to visit the main Puhinui location anytime Monday to Friday, between 8:30am and 5pm, with the Opaheke nursery available for viewing by appointment too.
Each nursery has fully automated watering systems, with rain checks and frost controls. We also run state of the art ISAN iodine dosage water treatment, which all but eliminates soil and water-borne fungal diseases.
We can contract grow to your specific requests, even filling very detailed orders given enough time, and can help to advise you on what will work best for your needs. We also offer a short term tree and plant hire service, for giving events and weddings an extra splash of natural colour which we can advise on, deliver, set up and remove.
