Description
Big Sand is a science fiction virtual band, set on a beautiful but harsh desert planet.
The elevator pitch? How about 'Australia's answer to Gorillaz' or, 'it's Disney, but indie'.
The project is the brainchild of musician, entrepreneur and former triple j Breakfast host Sally Coleman, and involves some of Australia’s most exciting musicians, visual artists, animators, designers and developers. As well as being highly collaborative, Big Sand has a focus on exploring emerging technology, innovative release strategies, creative social media and playful audience experiences.
Big Sand's debut single, 'Take Me Home', is a wonky, off-the-wall banger written in collaboration with ARIA nominated producer Alice Ivy. It's the first step into an immersive story that promises audiences a journey into an exciting and mysterious new universe.
