Achievements: ACTA's involvement led to the successful negotiations of the exclusion of coffee from GST, which was instrumental in the reduction of duties on the importation of coffee. Over 2022 we had meetings with EPA Victoria to discuss that State’s Environmental laws, as well as DAFF Canberra to raise concerns regarding delays on clearing coffee imports.
We provide experienced, independent judges for Royal Agricultural Society’s coffee awards.
We regularly communicate industry issues with the media, covering for instance; general coffee matters, addressing misleading or incorrect commentary, Fair Trade, Rainforest Alliance, 4C common code for the coffee community, market movements and green bean pricing developments.
ACTA keeps up with industry issues and has tackled many topics on sustainability and climate change.
