Description

The Australian Beef Sustainability Framework (ABSF) was developed by the Australian beef industry to meet the changing expectations of customers, investors and other stakeholders. The ABSF defines sustainable beef production and tracks performance over a series of indicators annually. The indicators will continue to be refined through a process of consultation with both stakeholders and technical experts.

How do we define sustainability?

Sustainability is the production of beef in a manner that is socially, environmentally and economically responsible. We do this through the care of natural resources, people and the community, the health and welfare of animals, and the drive for continuous improvement.

Our vision is a thriving Australian beef industry that strives to continuously improve the wellbeing of people, animals and the environment.

The ABSF supports the strategy outlined in the Red Meat 2030 to deliver for the red meat industries longevity and prosperity of people, livestock and the communities we serve.
