Description
The ASX Group and Refinitiv (formerly Thomson Reuters Financial and Risk) joined forces in 1999 to formalise a charity foundation, with the objective of helping Australian-based children’s, disability, and medical research charities by creating and organising premier fundraising events. We engage companies marketing and entertainment budgets and provide with the support of our sponsors, wonderful experiences, goods, and services for purchase at our charity auctions.
Today, the Foundations annual events include, The Financial Markets Charity Golf Day held continuously for 36 years, a Black-Tie Gala Dinner and Charity Auction, The Financial and Media Industries Yacht Regatta on Sydney Harbour, The Race for Good, our charity race day at Randwick Racecourse and beginning in 2020 our first ‘virtual event’, The Markets Trading Day for Charity.
From those humble beginnings the ASX / Refinitiv Charity Foundation has raised more than $33 million dollars for multiple charities. Participants in our events include top executives from corporate Australia. The CEOs, Chairmen and Senior Executives of companies including ASX, Refinitiv, Thomson Reuters, Westpac, NAB, Morgan Stanley, TPG, Nine Entertainment, Pacific Boating, Providence Wealth, Macquarie Bank, Citigroup, Intermain, CBA, Emirates, Singapore Airlines, Air New Zealand and many, many more.
