Description
The Indonesian Association of Lecturers (ADI) was established as a form of social responsibility and concern of Indonesian lecturers to educate the nation through education. This also represents a concrete contribution by Indonesian lecturers in making Indonesia a competitive nation capable of competing with other nations. ADI was inaugurated by the Minister of Education and Culture, Prof. Dr. Yuwono Sudarsono, in 1998, and was officially declared by the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prof. Dr. Ing. BJ Habibie, during the First National Congress at the State Palace and Hotel Indonesia in Jakarta on April 22-23, 1999.
The year 2024 marks the 26th anniversary of ADI as a forum and a gathering place for intellectuals in Indonesia who consistently carry out the three main pillars (Tridarma) of Higher Education. This dedication has earned recognition from the Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher Education as a professional organization of lecturers, receiving the ORPROF IPTEK Award RISTEKDIKTI in 2019.
Members A total of 20,148 members held cards from 1998 to 2022, and 18,301 members have been recorded in the app from September 22, 2022, to the present. Members are spread across 34 provinces in Indonesia, and since the fifth period, ADI membership has been open to all Indonesian citizens who work as lecturers at universities worldwide. As of December 1, 2023, members are located in various countries, including the United States, Europe, Japan, Australia, the Middle East, and Russia.
