Arboralis is a unique end-to-end consultancy service and structural engineer specialising in timber construction.
Our core focus is structural engineering design incorporating Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DFMA) and Modern Methods of Construction (MMC). Our experience across design, manufacture and construction of mass timber buildings is unrivalled in Australia, and in combination with prefabricated kit-of-parts timber frame we offer a unique blend of experience and connections across suppliers and industry.
We can offer everything from broad macro-scale consultancy on timber buildings, policy and R&D, through to the micro-scale design of details and connections. When designing timber buildings, there are often areas which can be neglected or misunderstood, whether that is: water management and durability, DFMA, transport and lifting, fire compliance, our experience across a broad range of timber building means we can support in those areas and help to ensure your timber building is a success.
We are a registered structural engineer in all Australian states and can offer fully certified design for your buildings. While we specialise in timber, we can offer other structural design components too, including steel, concrete and foundations as required for a project.
We particularly enjoy getting involved in the early stages of projects at a feasibility level, ensuring that the right systems are considered, and the full supply chain and expertise of the timber supply chain is considered. There are a great many timber buildings which we believe don't make it across the start line because the wrong decisions are made early, effectively making it a challenge to a cost-effective timber solution. We offer concepting services to support clients for these early feasibility studies
