Description

The ANU Actuarial Society, also known as ASOC, was officially established in 2016 at the Australian National University and is one of the well developed student societies.

Our vision is to support the social and professional growth of actuarial students at the ANU. With continual support from our sponsors, ASOC aims to actively facilitate social interaction within the actuarial cohort and promote career awareness. Since our initial establishment, ASOC has gathered a strong membership of 300+ and is rapidly growing to become a prominent student society in Canberra.

ASOC frequently organises social events, connecting actuarial students of all backgrounds and ages. Highlights include The Amazing Race, Welcome parties and games nights. These events allow students to have fun and be more involved and engaged in the actuarial community.

We also aim to streamline student career paths by providing vital skills necessary to become a competitive candidate in the Actuarial and Financial industry. With our array of events hosted throughout the year, students have the opportunity to gain further insight into the industry and network with experienced professionals during our office visits, the annual Actuarial Trip to firms in Sydney, workshops, and the careers fair.

Alongside our events throughout the year, ASOC acts as an excellent medium in providing students with the latest news and opportunities in the Actuarial, Finance and Data Science industries. Frequently highlighting graduate, internship and cadetship opportunities throughout the year, ASOC allows actuarial students to thrive and reach for their career aspirations.
