Q: Why do we need a society for Arts students?
There are currently over 3,500 undergraduate students studying Arts and Social Sciences at ANU, and there are already a number of clubs and societies connected with the CASS, but there is no centralised student-run organisation that is representative of all CASS students.
SASS was created to help provide comparative perspectives on possible career paths and on choice of majors; an easier, more accessible way to be able to gather information on courses, and more help and support for Arts students in preparing for their exams. Furthermore, SASS was created to facilitate more social events that bring CASS students from different disciplines together and allow new ANU Arts students to meet each other.
Q: How do I get involved?
The easiest way to become involved in SASS is by becoming a member. Membership is only $5. You get a membership card, which entitles you to discounts at a variety of venues on, and off, campus. You will also receive e-mails about upcoming social events, and information in regards to education, careers and social justice issues.
E-mail us with your name, e-mail address and degree, and we'll arrange a time when you can collect your membership card, and pay your membership fee.
If you want to become more involved in SASS, we have a number of positions to fill. If you are interested in filling one of these positions, or just want more information, come see us or contact us via e-mail.
