Established in 1987, ANKA is Australia’s first peak body for Aboriginal artists and art and culture centres. It supports nearly 50 Aboriginal community-controlled centres and over 6,000 artists across more than 1 million square kilometres of northern Australia – from the Kimberley and Arnhem Land to the Tiwi Islands and the Darwin–Katherine region. ANKA is proudly Indigenous-governed and committed to strengthening the remote art and culture sector on Country, for current and future generations.
