Our vision is that all Aboriginal women and children live safe and healthy lives free of family violence.

The Aboriginal Males Healing Centre Strong Spirit Strong Families Culture Inc. (AMHC) is a charity based in Newman, Western Australia. AMHC is a residential healing centre and offers an alternative to incarceration for men that use violence. The centre aims to heal these men, break the cycle of violence, and provide a safe and secure place for women and children.

The AMHC will offer a 12-month residential healing program incorporating Western clinical care and Aboriginal lore and culture as the critical healing element. All programs are developed and delivered by respected Elders in collaboration with the clinical team.

The AMHC will offer a holistic approach to healing over an extended period giving time for the men to develop life skills, a sense of responsibility, meaningful employment, good physical health and emotional and spiritual strength.

Throughout the healing process, AMHC will aim to protect the safety of women and children by providing a safe and secure environment for the participants. The AMHC will operate under, and comply with, three levels of governance:

1. Aboriginal government (cultural security, relevance and effectiveness), 2. clinical management (per Section 17 of the Health Practitioner Regulation National Law Act and in consideration of the Australian Indigenous Psychologists Association (AIPA) and, 3. corporate governance.
