Asosiasi Koperasi Ritel Indonesia (AKRINDO) sebagai wadah gerakan koperasi di bidang usaha ritel atau biasa disebut swalayan (pertokoan modern). Didirikan pada bulan Maret tahun 2010 atas inisiatif tokoh-tokoh koperasi di sektor ritel dan difasilitasi oleh Dinas Koperasi & UMKM Provinsi Jawa Timur. Sebagai Asosiasi Koperasi Ritel yang pertama di Indonesia serta telah berbadan hukum dengan Nomor 69/BH/III/2010.
AKRINDO hadir dengan visi menjadi partner dan fasilitator koperasi ritel menuju koperasi ritel yang berdaya saing dan dicintai pelanggan, serta dengan misi : meningkatkan pelayanan anggota melalui perbaikan manajemen ritel modern, meningkatkan omzet penjualan melalui jaringan usaha bersama, meningkatkan peran serta koperasi ritel dalam pembangunan ekonomi di daerah bersama stake holders sebagai mitra strategis.
